Beer Festival FAQ's
Can I return my glass or unused tokens?
Yes! Glasses can be returned for a full refund. Unused tokens can also be refunded or or donated to our nominated charity. If you wish to donate please drop your tokens into the charity box (located in the admissions area) rather than handing to the bar staff.
Will there be live music?
No, due to limited space, there will be no live music at the festival.
Is there seating available?
Yes, seating is available near the Maltings food hatch. Additionally, there are several tables and chairs located upstairs, this is accessible to the right of the entrance door on your way out.
Are dogs permitted?
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed due to limited space and the busy environment. However, guide dogs are welcome.
Are children allowed in?
No, children under the age of 18 are not permitted for safety reasons, as the limited space can make the environment unsuitable.
I want to attend but don't drink real ale
That's no problem! We'll have a great selection of ciders and a couple of choices of bottled wine options and prosecco for you to enjoy.
I don't drink alcohol, can I still attend?
Of course! Non-alcohol drinkers and designated drivers are more than welcome. Entry is free and you'll receive a special wristband that allows you to purchase non-alcoholic beer or soft drinks. Please note that you'll still need to buy tokens for these.
Can I join CAMRA at the beer festival?
Absolutely! Jump the queue and visit our membership desk and they'll set you up. Membership includes free entry to the festival and extra tokens. Why wouldn't you?
What food will be at the festival?
The Maltings provide a fantastic variety of food, including sandwiches, pork pies, scotch eggs, pasties, pies, bacon rolls, burgers and chips. Vegan options will also be available.
What non alcoholic beers will you have?
The selection is still to be confirmed. Stay tuned for updates.
Will the festival have vegan and gluten free drinks?
Yes! All vegan and gluten-free options will be clearly labelled in the festival programme, so you can easily find drinks that suit your preferences.
Is there a cash machine on-site?
Unfortunately, there are no cash machines on-site. The nearest ones will be Sainsburys (Lisle Lane), Tesco (Angel Drove, opposite the rail station) and several banks in town.
Can I get an Ely Beer Festival souvenir glass?
There is a limited stock of these so if one isn't available when you arrive, feel free to ask again when you leave as additional stock may become available later in the day.
